You see your child as a happy bundle of unique abilities and the future as one of endless possibilities. If school is now creating stress in your home life, look to Lighthouse Christian School for the answer to your academic questions.
For 14 years, Lighthouse has been a beacon of hope to parents looking for someone to recognize their child's learning differences. At eight different campuses, Lighthouse teachers have been trained to match their teaching style to the unique way in which your childlearns. This is possible because class sizes are small (elementary is 13:1, upper grades are 16:1) and the school works to provide information in a variety of ways.
The lesson is taught by the teachers and assignments are made in appropriate grade-level textbooks. Testing may be done orally.
Most children want to learn and can learn successfully, when you match their learning ability with the appropriate presentation and evaluation methods. Many children who enroll have been given a label such as SLD (specific learning disorder), ADD (attention deficit disorder) or ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder). Your child may have been labeled as having one of these learning disabilities, but Lighthouse Christian believes they are learning differences, not disabilities.
The faculty and staff believe that given the right opportunities academically, physically and spiritually, every child can flourish. They offersmall group tutoring, individual tutoring, speech and occupational therapy.
Private school tuition is often an intimidating thought, but if your child qualifies for a scholarship, it may cover all or part of the tuition. Lighthouse Christian accepts the McKay, Gardiner and Step Up for Students scholarships.
Students also enjoy Bible study and physical education as part of their schedule, because Lighthouse believes that academic, physical and spiritual education all work together to benefit the student. With God, all things are possible.
