Providence School

Exemplary college prep, Christian setting

Providence School was established with a vision to provide an exemplary college preparatory education in a Christian environment.

"From individual classroom attention and award winning fine arts to a championship athletic tradition, Providence prepares students to reach their full potential in a distinctly Christian environment. Students who graduate from Providence are prepared to attend college anywhere, including some of the most prestigious academic institutions of higher learning in the country," said Head of School DonBarfield.

Over 40 Advanced Placement and honors classes are offered at Providence. The teachers instill a love of learning and critical thinking through both core and elective courses. Technology is used as an innovative teaching tool that is designed to enhance the classroom experience and equip students for success in today's technology-driven world. Providence students have consistently scored higher than state and national averages on SAT and ACT scores and have had multiple merit finalists and semi-finalists.

Providence also has one of the strongest high school athletic programs in Northeast Florida, winning district, regional and state championships. Recognized by ESPN, Sports Illustrated and Max Preps, many of our athletes receive college scholarships and some have advanced to the professional level.

Visual and performing arts courses offer students the opportunity to nurture and explore their God-given talents, and share those gifts in significant ways. This year, our musical theatre department will present the Broadway hit, "The Sound of Music." Our Visual Arts and Dance programs have also earned numerous awards and college scholarships.

Our distinguished students are doctors, lawyers, politicians, artists, scientists, actors, professional athletes and teachers. They have attended many prestigious schools, including Princeton, Georgetown, Duke, Temple, West Point and The Citadel. They share a common spirit, which exemplifies academic excellence, unique talents and gifts, as well as a passion to fulfill God's plan for their lives. They have left their marks on Providence and Providence has become part of them.

They are ready to impact their world.
