Seven Bridges School, founded in 2001, is a private school (Pre K through 12) located in Orange Park, serving students throughout Northeast Florida recognized as having average-to-above-average intelligence, yet compromised in achieving that level due to a learning style difference.
We are accredited by The Florida Council of Independent Schools. Thus, students receive high school credits that will travel not only to schools and colleges within the United States, but also to international institutions. Though many students stay with us for two or three years, others stay to earn a high school diploma and are eligible to attend college. We maintain 10 or less students per teacher in allcore classes.
At Seven Bridges, we work with each individual student, partnering with parents, therapists and medical providers to provide each student the opportunity to reach his or her highest potential. Our students are from diverse backgrounds and come to us from Clay, Duval, St. Johns, Baker and other surrounding counties.
Our teachers are with us because they want to make a difference for students who struggle or fail in regular school settings. Teachers and staff establish and maintain personal relationships with students through shared breaks, lunches and school activities. This encourages students to communicate openly in a friendly environment.
The school day begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. Students may bring their own lunches or order from a monthly pre-established menu. Students are grouped according to educational needs, receiving instruction in reading, language, composition, math, science, social studies and foreign languages.
Electives include art, drama, music and physical fitness, communication skills, fine arts studies and computer technology as integrated across the curriculum. In addition, Seven Bridges offers several after-school clubs, such as journalism, art and Lego.
Our goal is to deliver the most comprehensive, time-efficient and effective educational environment for students to grow in a positive way in all phases of their development. The facility houses two distinct educational services: Seven Bridges School and Individualized Education Services, each designed to assist the student to achieve his or her personal best while guiding the child's learning and growing processes.
Seven Bridges School believes that accommodating the special needs of bright learners does not mean a "dumbing down" of academics. The philosophy of analysis and synthesis thinking lends itself to enrichment rather than acceleration, thus knowledge and skills can be restructured. They may be taught with a greater concern for cognitive and emotional developmental readiness stages, rather than a concern with a standardized curriculum or calendar.
The mission of Seven Bridges is to meet the needs of students with unique learning styles by establishing a safe, supportive and positive educational setting which continually assesses expectations, provides opportunities for success and develops within strategies for smooth transitions.
The purpose set forth by Seven Bridges is to discover and facilitate through the learning styles of every child a basic curriculum so that he or she is able to purposefully and successfully pursue life goals
Seven Bridges School is scheduled to expand its campus and will double the size of the student population for the 2017-2018 academic school year. Classrooms will be built on a property adjacenet to the school, developed into a park-like setting with pathways and nature trails throughout the wooded property.
